  • Starting in 2001, DISH Network began rating companies with an objective formula determined by how many of the company's customers continue their service with DISH Network.  This rating is an objective measure of long-term satisfied customers

WHY SHOULD I CARE ABOUT A COMPANY'S SUMMIT STATUS?

  • Better companies have more customers who continue their DISH Network service.  Companies that provide off-brand equipment, used equipment, poor installation service, or poor customer support will have unhappy customers who discontinue their service.  This rating gives you a fair and objective way to compare companies.

HOW CAN I DETERMINE THE SUMMIT STATUS OF OTHER COMPANIES?

  • The easiest way is to look on their website to see if they mention it.  If they're proud of their status, they'll mention it.  If not, ask one of their representatives.  This is a major and important quality program in effect since 2001.  If they don't know what you're talking about or refuse to answer, that's a very bad sign.  Buyer beware.

THEM:  Call-centers.  Thousands of workers serving millions of  customers.  Never speak to the same person twice.  If you can find anyone to speak to in a Department or Chain store, they generally have little or no product knowledge.   "You have questions?  They do to!"  Plus, with them you'll never have an independent personal American advocate if you ever have a problem (rare, but it happens).
